weirder dances!

There are lots of pieces that convey sadness, but somehow they always incorporate graceful pretty movements that doesn't make it feel quite right. This dance more or less says screw it, let's take all the crazy frantic things we do when we're really sad and frustrated, and put it to music. Love the flexed feet throughout the piece (it adds such tension!) and the random exasperated walking 1:40 to 1:50. (beware! I think there's a bit of flashing in here so don't show to children!)

I'm usually not a fan of dances that are purely movements put to music, but this one managed to be entertaining for what it is. Maybe it's because the idea of choreographing ballet to Pink Floyd is just that nutters.

I looooooove that first dance. I can feel the sorrow - pain - anger - that are also typically present alongside sadness.
